Our service exists to provide a quality, inclusive, environment that is welcoming, caring and that nurtures the excitement of learning, where tamariki (children) and their families experience God’s love and receive manaakitanga (quality care and education) based on Christian values.
Levin Baptist Kindergarten is a ministry of the Levin Baptist Church and is managed by the Kindergarten Committee, governed by the Levin Baptist Trust. We believe all people are created equal by God. All people regardless of race, age, gender, abilities, beliefs and socio economic background are welcome. We believe the ultimate expression of God’s love is what God has done through Jesus.
Kaiako (teachers) will work professionally together to enrich the tamariki (children’s) daily experiences through their enthusiasm, passion, inspiration and knowledge of good practice to contribute towards positive outcomes for all.
Levin Baptist Kindergarten recognises New Zealand’s bi-cultural identity and increasing multi-culturalism. We work in haere kotui (partnership) with whānau. We respect tamariki (children’s) cultural identity and the values of their whānau (parents).
We value a safe, fun, healthy and inclusive environment. We want to ensure trusting relationships (whanaungatanga) and procedures that will strengthen the ability of kaiako (teachers), whānau (parents) and tamariki (children) to work together to adequately protect all children who attend Levin Baptist Kindergarten and to create an environment where Christian morals and values are taught and experienced.
Kaiako (teachers) notice, recognise and respond to tamariki (children’s) learning. Learning occurs throughout the day, either through planned or spontaneous activities, to support and develop children’s strengths and interests. Daily practices include supporting social emotional competencies, physical and intellectual learning and development.
